Thanks for this. I have a question though - why is the Dinner class found in the DInner.vb file, but the RSVP class is not? (I'm trying to understand how all this MVC stuff fits together and that is baffling me ...)

Hi (err) Anon, There is an RSVP class it is created by Linq to SQL. In the case of Dinner we need to create some additional methods, Dinners.vb is a Partial Class which extends the Dinner class created by Linq, hope this makes sense

Thanks for converting the code to VB. Everything works great but the only issue I have and this not only your code but the new ASP.NET 4.0 template as well is that why can't the menu selected item be highlighted to differentiate it from the other menu items. This seems to be a bug. I tried every CSS property that I could think of but it's not working and even at the sample NerdDinner site, it's also not shown.
